Durable. Fearless. Nimble. Hardy. Such is irbis, the snow leopard. The predator for which no wilderness is inaccessible, no frost is strong enough. It is no coincidence that the aircraft we are currently developing got the same name. We put as demanding requirements on it as a rugged nature on the snow leopard.
The M-4 is cultivated for adventure journeys and reliable service day after day. It feels at home in the air same as on short and unpaved fields. Its optimized aerodynamics provides an easy controllability within the entire range of flight speeds, high-efficiency slotted flaps are used for safe operation at low speeds. The M-4 Irbis is designed for extremely short takeoff and landing (STOL) without leaving the requirements for safety, stability and above-average cocpit space behind.
The whole design is driven by demands for high endurance, efficiency and simple maintenance. The airframe is a combination of aluminium alloy sheet-metal structure used on wings, tail and fuselage cone and a high-strenght steel weldment creating the central part of the fuselage connecting wings, main landing gear and cocpit.
